Spiritual work alike counselling work can become sensitively subjective. What may seem like a very general consultation to one person may be a very deep and meaningful for others who receive such "spiritual" service. Transpersonal Therapy, Spiritual counselling, mysticism, psychics, mediumship and spiritualism practices can like any other industry receive dissatisfied clientele

*If a client/patient is not happy with a service that they have paid out for, they have the right to ask for their money back and to complain to the Office of Fair Trading that they have not received the service they paid for. In extreme cases, an individual could misunderstand a message given to them in a consultation. They could then argue that it has caused them to act in such a way that it has negatively affected their lives. As a result they could have legal recourse to take the consultant who provided the service to court

Universal Learning's mission is to offer the public a credible long standing organisation that gives them a list of participants to choose from who they know will not set out to defraud them and take their money for an unfair service. The law and the government classes those who charge or receive goods in exchange for services, as a Trader, as "workers" unless a tribunal has stated otherwise. The above applies to all persons who in any capacity, whether professionally or voluntarily, offer any kind of consultation on a one or group counselling, therapeutic, esoteric mediumistic, psychic, wholistic, spiritual, mainstream or complementary basis

If you are going to charge or receive goods then you should know that any income that is not taxed at source under the current laws needs to be declared to the Inland Revenue. If you are earning money or receiving goods, you might consider the possibility of becoming self employed. It is worth noting that you can be employed and self employed at the same time and you will only need to pay taxes on any income that exceeds a certain amount.

Staying within the law and working between mainstreams and the complementary fields of learning is more than just a job it can become a vocation for some. However the statutory laws will still count.

If you offer your services free of charge then the government has no legal rights over you under the law. However, individuals may still seek civil proceedings against you should they feel a victim of malpractice. Universal Learning having been to tribunal and have been practicing in these areas for over 15 years and are ready to step up and open the network to the wider and general public. Please be aware that the law classes you as a trader and you will need to work within the law the same as any other professional helper/trader.
